Modern expressionism

Modern expressionism is an alternative term for Symbolism.[1] Visual artists described as modern expressionist include the South African Gerard Sekoto, whose work in the 1940s drew on Fauvism and Post-Impressionism.[2]

Modern Expressionism is definitely an expression of the Modern Day Travesty,Bold Hues,Color Combinations/Play of colors are more bolder than sublime art.It emphasizes function and attempts to provide for specific needs rather than imitate nature. Expressionism helps in saying commonalities known to people & yet presenting it in such a manner or fashion that it seems new . Routine or Mundane is Highlighted, this form of art is a by product of the Liberalization era. A revolution in itself.And it is controversial too.
